about the project

This project was an exploratory usability study I led at Monster.com. The high level objective was to understand if our new and improved model of applying for jobs was something that sat well with our target users. This data would help inform a key decision around whether or not to add this project to the upcoming year’s PM/UX roadmap. Some information has been removed and some product screenshots have been sketched and recreated for confidentiality reasons.

background and goals

“Swipe to Apply” was a product concept developed through a combination of wild brainstorming and a desire to push the boundaries of what it means to apply for a job. The initial concept was developed quickly and without user research: our app allowed users to develop a profile so that we could deliver a feed of jobs right to their fingertips. The user would then be able to swipe right to apply to that job, or swipe left to reject the job.
